Description

Here is a detailed breakdown of the sculpture:

Iconography & Representation
The Figure of Shrinathji: The central figure is depicted in a classic posture associated with the Pushtimarg tradition. His face features large, stylized downcast
eyes and traditional facial contours characteristic of Nathdwara art.

The Raised Left Hand: His left arm is raised above his head, a posture symbolizing Lord Krishna lifting the Govardhan Hill to protect the people of Vrindavan from
fierce rains.

Right Hand & Offerings: His right hand rests near his waist, cradling long-stemmed lotus buds and blossoms, which are traditional offerings to the deity.

Adornments: Shrinathji is heavily adorned with elaborate layers of necklaces draping down to his feet, a decorative crown topped with a large peacock
feather motif, and large traditional earrings.

Background Frame & Halo (Prabhavali)
The Circular Halo: The deity stands within a large, integrated circular frame or backplate. The surface of this frame is meticulously textured with an all-over
stippled pattern interspersed with engraved floral medallions and rosettes.

Decorative Elements: Running along the right side of the halo is an engraved, undulating rope-like sash or garland ending in a small tassel bell.

The Base (Pitha)
Sacred Imagery: The rectangular pedestal at the bottom features a beautifully carved relief scene. It depicts two cows facing a central sun-like or floral emblem,
representing Krishna’s role as Gopala (the protector of cows).

Material & Finish
Texture: The piece displays masterfully executed repoussé and chasing work, giving it a rich three-dimensional texture.

Finish: The gold finish has a warm, satin-matte luster rather than a harsh mirror gloss, allowing the fine linear details of the clothing, jewelry, and background
patterns to stand out clearly.
