Description
1. The Central Deity Figure
Pose & Iconography: The deity stands front-facing on a pedestal. His left arm is raised high above his head with the hand bent at the wrist—a classic posture
representing Krishna lifting Mount Govardhan to protect his devotees. His right arm rests near his torso, holding a cluster of three stylized lotus buds and blossoms
that fan out to the left.
Adornments & Attire: The figure is lavishly adorned in traditional, heavy ornamentation. A prominent, thick, U-shaped garland (vaijayanti mala) composed of individual
rounded beads frames the front of his attire, draping down past his knees. He wears a highly detailed, layered chest plate or necklace (hansli style) and an ornate,
patterned skirt or tunic (pichwai style dress) flaring slightly at the sides.
Head & Expression: The deity wears an elaborate, tall crown (mukut) complete with a large, peacock feather on the crown.
The face features stylized, wide eyes, a gentle smile, and long ears adorned with heavy traditional earrings.
2. Accompanying Elements
Sash & Accessories: A stylized, curving sash or horn-shaped attribute sweeps outward on the lower left. On the right side, a wavy, snake-like or rope-like element
drapes down, terminating in a small hanging bell.
The Pedestal: The figure stands barefoot on a rectangular silver base. The front face of the base is heavily engraved with a repetitive peacock feather or teardrop
border pattern, resting on a smooth, tiered bottom rim.
The artisan had put a lot of effort by putting the fine engravings to give the silver sculpture an intense sense of depth, texture, and three-dimensionality
