Description
Divine Iconography & Features
The Deity Face: The sculpture centers on a human male divine face with traditional, striking features. It includes large, almond-shaped eyes, a sharp nose, a
prominent mustache with curved tips, and a serene but powerful expression. A sharp tilak (sacred forehead mark) is etched onto the forehead between the eyebrows.
The Ears: The elongated earlobes are adorned with heavy, coiled circular earrings (kundalas) resting against the jawline.
The Serpent Hood (Naga): Sprouting directly above the deity’s crown is a majestic, flared hood of a five-headed cobra (Pancha Mukhi Naga). Each individual serpent
head features engraved facial details, while the underside of the main hood shows smooth, vertical fluted segments. The outer edges of the hood are bordered with a
textured, cross-hatched scale pattern.
Craftsmanship & Ornamentation
Crown & Neckbands: A structured crown base sits directly below the serpent hood, featuring geometric bands and a small decorative finial centerpiece. Below the chin,
a multi-layered, textured necklace or choker collar hugs the neck.
